Editorial Director, Andrew Reynolds
In each issue our publisher provides business and management insight and analysis as it relates to the world of BOPP film. Topics range from BOPP film pricing, investment decisions, marketing, customer negotiations, entreprise value, product portfolio management and much, much more all delivered in a highly readable and entertaining style.
Film and resin pricing
While we would like to provide the industry with specific film pricing by region, by market, by gauge, that would be difficult. In each region there are a range of prices for any product depending upon the volume purchased, the available capacity of the particular manufacturer at the time of a quotation or converter/end user agreement in place. What ORIENTATE does provide are indicators for pricing trends by region (Europe, North America, China) using an average price over a rolling three-month period based on benchmark films appropriate to that region. This is mapped against PP homopolymer resin pricing by region.
News with a difference
ORIENTATE brings you all the latest news for the BOPP film industry from around the world. Mergers, acquisitions, new investments, capacity expansions and just as significant, de-commissioning and line relocations will be reported. We won’t just be looking for the press releases either, but seeking out the stories and news that don’t always make it to the mainline packaging or plastics new sources.
We also be keep our subscribers up to date on new developments in resins, additives, slitter technology, coating innovations, enhancements in film line related equipment, including gauge measuring devices, stretching and extrusion equipment. In addition, we also report on key developments in the converting industry.
Executive interview
In each issue a leading executive from either the BOPP film industry, its customers or suppliers from around the world is interviewed. Interviews have included top management from ANDRITZ Biax (Austria), Artes Graficas Unidas (Mexico), Biaxplen (Russia), Biofilm (Colombia), Brückner Maschinenbau (Germany), Cosmo Films (India), Polibak (Turkey), Shiner International (China) and Treofan (Germany). Another feature of ORIENTATE is its in-depth articles looking at specific country/regional markets or applications for BOPP film. AMI Consulting, the publisher of ORIENTATE, has an extensive database on the participants in the industry as well as carrying out regular research on the global BOPP film industry. The country reviews provide highly detailed assessments of the supply/demand of BOPP film including analysis of capacity utilisation, trade and end use demand, while market reports look at the trends and developments in the use of BOPP film in markets such as snack food, confectionery, labels and bakery.
