Buss Chem Tech Machinery

With a heritage stretching back 140 years, BUSS ChemTech AG brings unparalleled experience and a commitment to guaranteed performance to the chemical industry. At the Plastics Recycling World Expo, taking place in Cleveland, Ohio, from November 12-13, BUSS ChemTech will highlight their unique approach to technology delivery.

"For over half of that time, we've been supplying technology & plants to the chemical industry. And all of our plants are delivered with performance guarantees based on experiments made in our own technical centers," explains Thomas Blocher. "We don't promise, we deliver." This focus on tangible, proven results sets BUSS ChemTech apart.

The next big thing: scaled-up pyrolysis for waste plastic

BUSS ChemTech AG is making significant strides in chemical recycling. Blocher reveals their latest breakthrough: "We have completed the scale-up of our pyrolysis-based chemical recycling technology to handle up to 20'000 mtpy of waste plastic feedstock." This development represents a major step forward in addressing plastic waste on an industrial scale.

Tackling industry challenges: navigating a weak investment climate

Thomas Blocher identifies a primary challenge currently facing the industry: "The investment climate is very weak at the moment." He explains that "potential investors are generally watching from the sidelines to see how supply chains develop in reaction to regulations coming on line (PPWR in the EU and analogous regulations in other regions)." BUSS ChemTech is navigating this by continuing to prove the viability and strong return potential of their advanced technologies.

A decade ahead: maturing supply chains and widespread pyrolysis adoption

Looking ten years into the future, Blocher foresees a clear evolution for the chemical recycling sector. "No different from the introduction of any major new technology in the commodities market, the supply chain infrastructure will be built-out and mature, pyrolysis oil price indices will be more widely available and investments will be made for projects employing technologies with good return potential." This vision highlights a future where chemical recycling, particularly pyrolysis, becomes a standard and economically attractive solution.

Expo excitement: sharing expertise on pyrolysis opportunities

What excites BUSS ChemTech AG most about this year's expo is the opportunity to share their deep knowledge. "Our Dr. Jaydev will be speaking about the opportunities and challenges of pyrolysis of plastic waste," Blocher confirms. This session will provide valuable insights into a critical area of plastics recycling and a chance for attendees to engage with leading experts.
