Exhibitor Spotlight: Advanced Blending Solutions on smarter processing, material recovery and automation

21 October 2026

As AMI Plastics World Expos 2026 approaches, we’re speaking with exhibitors about the innovations, challenges and opportunities shaping the plastics industry.

In this exhibitor spotlight, Chloe Linsmeier from Advanced Blending Solutions discusses smarter plastics processing, material recovery and automation, and how technologies including Sasquatch and SAVER are helping processors improve efficiency, reduce waste and optimise production.

Company: Advanced Blending Solutions Booth: E4411

What makes your company stand out? What sets you apart from the competition, and why should visitors make sure to visit your stand?

At ABS, what sets us apart is that we don’t just sell equipment, we partner with our customers to solve problems and improve their processes. We take the time to understand each customer’s unique operation and provide solutions that help them increase efficiency and profitability, reduce waste, and achieve more consistent results.

As a family-owned company, we’re able to move quickly, stay close to our customers, and build long-term relationships that go beyond the initial sale. Our team brings decades of plastics processing experience and a passion for innovation, which allows us to create practical solutions that make a measurable impact on our customers’ operations.

Visitors should stop by our stand to see how we’re helping processors work smarter from advanced blending technology and material handling solutions to data-driven systems designed to improve visibility, reliability, and overall plant performance.

What’s the next big thing you’re working on? Can you give us a sneak peek into any new technologies, innovations, or breakthroughs you're bringing to the market?

At ABS, we’re continuing to focus on developing solutions that help processors run smarter, more efficiently, and more sustainably. One of the exciting technologies that is growing in the market is Sasquatch, our direct extrusion repelletizing system designed to help processors turn their trim scrap back into production. Sustainability and material recovery continue to be major priorities for the industry, and Sasquatch was designed to make that process easier and more reliable. With advanced melt temperature control, an enlarged feed entry to reduce bridging, improved pellet transportation, and integrated Allen-Bradley controls, the system helps processors maximize material recovery while minimizing waste. It’s available in multiple configurations to support a wide range of materials & throughput requirements.

Beyond repelletizing, we’re also continuing to advance our automation and process control solutions. SAVER, our Auto Aspirator is a great example of how we’re replacing manual adjustments with smarter technology by automatically maintaining optimal vacuum levels for material conveying. When paired with our velocity-controlled vacuum pumps, processors gain greater control over their material handling systems without requiring constant operator intervention.

We’re also expanding our focus on energy efficiency and process optimization with advancements in our desiccant drying systems, including multi-hopper solutions that allow processors to dry multiple resins simultaneously while reducing energy consumption and maintaining consistent material quality.

What’s the biggest challenge in the industry right now – and how are you tackling it? Whether it's sustainability, supply chain issues, or something else, we’d love to hear your take!

Processors are being asked to do more with less; reduce waste, improve energy efficiency, manage labor challenges, and maintain high levels of production.

At ABS, we believe the solution starts with better visibility and smarter processes. Our equipment is designed to help customers optimize material usage, reduce scrap, improve consistency, and make data-driven decisions. Sustainability is also a major focus for us, both internally through initiatives like our Green Team and externally by helping customers improve their own operations through more efficient technologies.

The industry is evolving quickly, and we want to be a partner helping our customers adapt and succeed.

Over the next 10 years, I think we’ll continue to see a shift toward smarter, more connected manufacturing. Automation, artificial intelligence, and data analytics will play a much larger role in helping processors improve efficiency, predict maintenance needs, and optimize production.

Sustainability will also continue to reshape the industry. Companies will need to find ways to reduce waste, increase material efficiency, and incorporate more recycled materials while maintaining quality and performance.

The businesses that will be most successful are the ones willing to embrace technology and view innovation as an investment rather than just a cost. Having the right equipment is important, but having the right data and insights to make better decisions will become just as critical.

What excites you most about this year’s expo? Are you launching something new, speaking at a session, or just looking forward to networking with industry leaders?

What excites me most about Extrusion World Expo is the opportunity to connect with the people who make this industry so innovative. Tradeshows are one of the best opportunities to have conversations with customers, understand the challenges they’re facing, and learn where the industry is headed. At the end of the day, this industry is built on collaboration, and events like Extrusion World Expo give us the opportunity to share ideas, learn from each other, and continue moving plastics manufacturing forward.
