27 October 2026

As AMI Plastics World Expos 2026 approaches, we’re speaking with exhibitors about the innovations, challenges and opportunities shaping the plastics industry.

In this exhibitor spotlight, Veronica Livingstone from Michigan Additive Technologies discusses customised flame retardant and smoke suppressant solutions, developments in non-ATO formulations, and how supply chain pressures and changing regulations are influencing the plastics and rubber industries.

Company: Michigan Additive Technologies, Inc. Booth: C905

What makes your company stand out? What sets you apart from the competition, and why should visitors make sure to visit your stand?

Michigan Additive Technologies is committed to solving any problem that a customer may have. We custom design flame retardant and smoke suppressant blends quickly and efficiently to suit our customer's needs.

What’s the next big thing you’re working on? Can you give us a sneak peek into any new technologies, innovations, or breakthroughs you're bringing to the market?

Michigan Additive Technologies has expertise in both the flame retardant and smoke suppressant space. Currently, we are looking at non-ATO based flame retardant blends to complement our current ATO based offerings. We are also working on adding to our distribution product portfolio to become a one-stop shop for the plastics and rubber industries.

What’s the biggest challenge in the industry right now – and how are you tackling it? Whether it's sustainability, supply chain issues, or something else, we’d love to hear your take!

The biggest challenges we see are related to the supply chain in regards to freight costs and tariffs. As the geopolitical situation is constantly shifting, at MAT we ensure that we have multiple raw material suppliers, strong relationships with shipping companies and our suppliers, and balance our costs to best serve our customers.

The geopolitical landscape and regulatory restrictions will result in continuous shifts in the industry. The effects will vary region to region so having the ability to customize solutions will be critical.

What excites you most about this year’s expo? Are you launching something new, speaking at a session, or just looking forward to networking with industry leaders?

We are looking forward to networking with industry leaders, connecting with current customers, and discussing scientific advancement.
