Holland Colours Americas Inc.: Pioneering sustainable colorants and additives for plastics' future at Compounding World Expo North America 2025
10 July 2025

Holland Colours Americas Inc. (HCA) has been at the forefront of developing and supplying high-quality solid and liquid colorants, color masterbatches, and advanced polymer additives for 45 years. At the Compounding World Expo, taking place in Cleveland, Ohio, from November 12-13, 2025, HCA will showcase its deep commitment to sustainability and collaborative innovation.
"While others are just becoming green, we've been focusing on that for nearly a half-century," states Nick Goble. He emphasizes HCA's unique approach: "As a business partner, we always find a better way forward by working together. We focus on personal service and co-design innovative solutions for a sustainable industry." Goble encourages visitors to "stop by our stand to see how deep our co-designing, sustainable efforts run from start to finish, whether that is a new additive, colorant, or new product altogether."
The next big thing: expanding sustainable additives and strategic partnerships
Holland Colours Americas Inc. is continuously looking toward the future, actively engaging with business partners and staying attuned to industry developments. "Since founding Holcobatch, the first earth friendly plastic colorant, we've been developing cutting edge products and technologies to stay ahead of the game," Goble shares.
What's next? "Expanding our sustainable additives lines to make new products more reusable and existing products more sustainable," he reveals. HCA is also "deeply committed to fostering strategic partnerships across the entire value chain. We deliver high-performance, functional additive solutions that support recycling processes and elevate the quality of recycled materials, ensuring a vibrant and sustainable future for plastics in an ever-evolving landscape."
Tackling industry challenges: navigating sustainability and regulatory pressures
"Right now, sustainability and regulatory pressures are so important as we maneuver green efforts within the entire industry," Goble notes. While supply chain issues have significantly improved, he anticipates tariffs could pose a challenge soon. However, HCA is prepared: "But we have great business partners including long-term, positive relationships, so we'll navigate successfully through that, as well." A decade ahead: pivoting for regulatory compliance and new material streams Looking forward ten years, Goble predicts significant shifts driven by regulatory requirements. "The entire plastics supply chain will have to be stringent about meeting company, industry, regional, state and federal guidelines," he explains. This could involve meeting specific percentages of recycled content or "creating a whole new material stream (think bioplastics)." Businesses, he advises, "will have to be able to pivot from old ways of meeting expectations to create flexibility in order to secure their future growth."
Expo excitement: cultivating true partnerships and unveiling innovations
For Nick Goble, the true value of any expo lies in face-to-face connections. "The opportunity to meet prospects and current customers/suppliers in person allows us to cultivate true partnerships with deeper commitments," he says. HCA is also eager to unveil new developments: "We are proud to unveil our latest innovations designed to enhance the capabilities of both our recycling partners and converters." Goble concludes, "At HCA, our shared focus remains on shaping the future of plastics, and we’re eager to share this vision with our industry peers and collaborators. Teaming up is in our DNA, so that’s really exciting."
