Exhibitor Spotlight: Tecnofer on advancing plastics washing technology
8 October 2026
As AMI Plastics World Expos 2026 approaches, we’re speaking with exhibitors about the technologies, challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the plastics industry.
In this exhibitor spotlight, Alessandro Chiarion, Sales & Business Development Manager at Tecnofer Ecoimpianti S.r.l, discusses the company’s approach to customized plastics washing lines, developments in LDPE and HDPE/PP recycling, and the technologies that could transform the sector over the next decade.
What makes your company stand out? What sets you apart from the competition, and why should visitors make sure to visit your stand?
Since 1976, Tecnofer has been a pioneer in the plastic recycling industry, with hundreds of washing lines delivered worldwide.
What makes Tecnofer different from other players in the market is the extremely high level of customization, offering the possibility to supply complete washing lines or optimize existing plants by installing individual applications.
Another key focus is performance optimization, with particular attention to final product cleanliness and energy savings.
What’s the next big thing you’re working on? Can you give us a sneak peek into any new technologies, innovations, or breakthroughs you're bringing to the market?
Tecnofer is taking plastic recycling to the next level with the expansion of our own machine fleet, focusing on advanced LDPE and HDPE/PP washing lines. Soon, we will launch cutting-edge solutions that set a new benchmark in the industry — delivering an unmatched level of cleaning performance.
What’s the biggest challenge in the industry right now – and how are you tackling it? Whether it's sustainability, supply chain issues, or something else, we’d love to hear your take!
Two of the biggest challenges in the plastic washing industry today are:
- achieving top cleaning performance while minimizing environmental impact and operational costs
- delivering LDPE/LLDPE with truly workable residual humidity levels that ensure a smooth and efficient downstream extrusion process
At Tecnofer, we tackle these challenges through continuous innovation. Our washing lines are engineered to achieve outstanding final product purity — even when processing highly contaminated post-consumer material — while significantly reducing water and energy consumption.
Sustainability is at the heart of what we do: we develop solutions that help our customers lower their carbon footprint, optimize resource use, and stay competitive in a fast-changing market. Thanks to flexible configurations and a high degree of customization, our systems are tailored to meet specific local requirements and guarantee long-term value and performance.
Fast forward 10 years - how do you see the industry evolving? What major trends do you think will reshape the sector, and how should businesses prepare?
Fast forward 10 years, we believe the plastic recycling industry — and in particular the plastic washing sector — will be reshaped by three major trends:
A- Stronger circular economy integration
B- Digitalization and smart automation –
C- Greater focus on sustainability and carbon neutrality – Energy and water efficiency
At Tecnofer, we’re committed to leading this transformation by designing innovative solutions that help our customers not only keep up, but stay ahead.
What excites you most about this year’s expo? Are you launching something new, speaking at a session, or just looking forward to networking with industry leaders?
What excites us most about this year’s expo is the chance to share our vision for the future of plastic recycling and present our most innovative solutions.
We will be providing insights into some of the most flexible washing plants available on the market today, designed to give customers the freedom to plan for a safer, more efficient, and more sustainable future.
It’s a valuable opportunity to engage with industry leaders, strengthen partnerships, and stay ahead of the challenges and opportunities of the transition towards a truly circular economy.
